A case study showcasing the new visual identity for the Irish Independent master brand. The ‘Indo’ — a foundation stone of Ireland’s media scene — is evolving from a disparate group of newspapers, websites and apps into a single multi-platform news brand.
Our long term collaborators Mark Porter Associates pulled together a crack team of creatives to deliver a comprehensive set of assets for design, marketing, promotions and social media that included a bespoke typeface, primary and secondary colour palettes, tone-of-voice guidance and a ‘one-line’ illustration style. Smörgåsbord then defined a motion behaviour language that informed the onscreen design and subsequently developed an animation style that brought the illustrations to life. A very satisfying collaboration for a brilliant client.
